Top 100 restaurants in Australia

SepiaSydney’s Sepia has been voted Australia’s best restaurant and head chef Martin Benn named top chef in a competition voted on by 500 of the country’s leading chefs and restauranteurs. Victoria and New South Wales shared the top ten positions in the list of 100 best Australian restaurants with five each.

“To be chef of the year from a publication is one thing,” Mr Benn told the Australian Financial Review but to be nominated or win from a peer vote, then that’s the pinnacle of what you would ever want …The Australian dining scene at the moment is an amazing place to be right now. It’s really on the brink of becoming one of the dining capitals of the world – across the board from the low ends to the top. There are no boundaries here, we’re not tied to tradition.”
