JK Rowling’s new multi-book strategy to emulate the Harry Potter series

Bird in birdcageJK ROWLING is going to replicate the strategic muti-book roll out of the Harry Potter series with her crime novels featuring private investigator Cormoran Strike. Strike was star of  The Cuckoo’s Calling, Rowling’s first non-Potter book written secretly then published under the pen name Robert Galbraith. The Cuckoo’s Calling had sold fewer than 1,000 copies when it was revealed that Rowling was the author. Sales in English language copies alone then rocketed to more than 600,000. The Silkworm, the second book in the series, is to be released in June but was written before The Cuckoo’s Calling was published. Apparently Rowling has been working on the third since last year.
