This is the first day of my holidays. The next three weeks stretch ahead enticingly bringing back memories of the end of a school year when the only things that lay ahead were the things i wanted to do, not the things i had to do.
What i want to do is enjoy the festive season with family and friends, catch up with movies and plays i want to see and, of course, to read. I have gathered together a pile (electronic and literal) of books to be enjoyed. Perhaps others will come up, but these are my official holiday reading.
In no particular order: The Round House by Louise Erdrich, Mr Penumbra’s 24-Hour Book Store by Robin Sloan, Beautiful Ruins by Jessica Waller, Astray by Emma Donoghue, Risk by CK Stead and Flight Behaviour by Barbara Kingsolver.
